Have you known a blockchain system that connects customers with contractors? This is about it. This new project with a whole new concept and also other fascinating things which i’m sure will be of your interest. Today’s project is Bobsrepair, a platform which simply connects customers to contractors eliminating all forms of irregularities in between. I know you have several thoughts of what this project might be about already but i’ll shortly give a short illustration on its concept. It is a common thing these days to hear news about companies leaving bad reviews on competitor’s pages or buying reviews to inflate their own overall ratings. We have several simple example of this which we experience daily. Using playstore as an example, we get a lot of this from customers from other companies in order to make potential customers lose trust in the ability of product, services or solution provided. It dosen’t end here, so many more other problem has emerged such as high fees for listing spaces where the contractor who pays the most fees gets the top slot. So, the contractors are forced to pay advertising fees to get more eyeballs. This advertising fee comes out of the consumers pocket in the form of raised fees. Surely not everyone has enough budget to cover high fees in getting top slots which is one big limiting problem. Asides budgeting getting top slots, some other factors such as hidden costs may scare potential customers away from online platforms. Now here is where Bobsrepair. comes in.
Bobsrepair(BOB)-The Introduction
Bob’s Repair is a company that was created in order to eliminate review fraud in the skilled trade service industry by launching a decentralized website where anyone can search by previous transactions for any worker and see how much their services. Bob’s Repair is a design and structure that has been implemented in a field that has the purpose of providing a service to clients or customers, so there are no cases. Also one other interesting part is that Bob’s Repair gained support by John McAFee and is in development on a decentralized platform that is being developed by Bob’s Repair. This proves that Bob’s Repair strives to perform well in creating a service to strive to improve quality and good relationships from contractors and consumers to better and better interactions.
How does Bobsrepair intend solving the problems at hand?
In order to curb the trust issues that consumers have due to practices as mentioned previously, the Bob Platform will be using Blockchain technology to tie down reviews of both sides (which is the consumer and contractor side) with the actual financial transaction. So, the platform will only present real and unadulterated reviews. This will help foster transparency and trust in the platform. Also, I discussed problem of advertisment, Bobsrepair will be tackiling this problem by eliminating any sort of advertisements on their platform because they believe that merit should be the sole criteria to rank the service providers. This merit will be determined by reviews and level of service provided by the contractor. Lastly, with Bobsrepair decentralized ledger, customers will be able to see how much contractors had previously charged for similar jobs. Smart contracts will be employed by the platform to hold payments in escrow and would be released after certains pre-set milestones are reached. Awesome right. This project portrays a high level of security and transparency in their ecosystem. They're planning to launch a new decentralized marketplace that connects consumers to contractors. By using the blockchain they hope that they can solve a variety of problems in the industry, the most important one being fraud with consumers being the ripped off. The Bob's Repair ICO pre sale recently started, having already sold half the tokens it looks set to reach it's hardcap.The team behind the project have already run a centralized version which quickly processed over $1 million in revenue however they felt that running the platform on the blockchain would provide many advantages.

Review fraud
It's well known that companies regularly purchase fake reviews to inflate their reputation on platforms. Just do a simple Google search and you can verify that this is true. This has made it impossible to select good contractors online by using services such as Google reviews.
Advertising fees
Contractors have to spend a significant chunk of their revenue on advertising, this in turn then means that they have to charge consumers more. Using services such as Google adwords it often costs upwards of $5 for them to receive just 1 click and that's after they've already spent a lot of cash on making the website in the first place.
Pricing
Consumers generally have no idea how much certain work should cost. I myself would have no idea it should cost to build a small wall or have a window replaced.
The Bob's repair solution
The platform will leverage the blockchain to fight review fraud. The platform will run on the STEEM blockchain, the platform will link reviews to the contract so that only genuine customers can leave reviews. The platform won't charge any advertising fees. Contracts will be ranked based on the previous reviews that they've received. The platform will break down costs into parts and labour. It will also be easy for users to search the database and get an idea of what the price should be. In 2013 the founders created the previous company STWP. This platform linked consumers to contractors. In just 3 years the platform generated over $1 million in revenue and created 50,000 service calls. They previously charged contracts a flat fee of $75 a week which generated them 2 leads per day on average. This is much cheaper than contractors normally pay for targeted leads. Last year the brothers behind the project stumbled upon blockchain technology. After reading about it more they realized that by utilizing blockchain technology they could further improve on their platform and the cut costs.
